Back in the 1970's I majored in percussion at Oberlin
Conservatory. I went on to get my master's degree at Eastman School
of Music. At that time there were only a tiny handful of female
percussionists out there. Thanks for sharing this information about
Evelyn Glennie. It was very inspiring to read about her determination
to perform in spite of every obstacle.
